Dear Fellow Painter, Welcome to our Sacramento Plein Air Painters group! "Plein air" is French for painting in the open air, (outdoors), in the natural elements, which sometimes comes with braving the thick fog, or the blistering sun, wind, bugs, etc. Sometimes painting in public places all alone can feel awkward. As painters meeting together, we find comfort in camaraderie, and often inspire each other. The best part about painting together is the friendships that grow from our times togeth …

This group is an experiment to create a free exchange of modeling and drawing for artists, like myself, who love drawing from life. Group members take turns doing some of the modeling (lightly-clothed or nude) and will have plenty of time to draw. I have drawn from life on and off for the last 15 years or so and also have experience modeling for life drawing classes in the University setting. I think the experience of being on both sides of the coin is valuable and interesting. Details: - All m …

*Please note this group was formerly a Bunco only group, however due to lack of enough attendance for Bunco, we shifted our focus to the more popular Poker Night. We may still schedule Bunco games from time to time. Feel free to attend whichever events interest you. :) Join us for Ladies Poker Night. Our home games are typically held in Scotts Valley, CA. We're a fun group of women who don't take ourselves too seriously. We enjoy laughing, eating, talking and drinking wine, beer or margarita' …

CLINE was established to encourage and facilitate the scientific exploration of the intersection of computation, language, information, complexity, and intelligence as they are influenced by, and influence, the process of evolution. Of particular interest to this group is the development of self-evolving systems. The assumption is that apex systems evolve toward greater and greater complexity-handling capacity. Some call this "artificial intelligence," but we have trouble with the term as it: 1 …

Stick figures are most welcome, and in fact, can be quite hilarious and awesome! Its challenging to find time to do art when you are busy living life, and if you love art and wish you did more then these meetups will be a solution for you. There will be time for free drawing at each meetup, but mostly there are themes fo …

Let's get together on weekends to wander around San Francisco, sketching people and places. You don't have to be the next Paul Madonna, just someone who likes observing city life and making marks on paper. (Note that we used to be called Urban Sketchers. Same group, just a different name.)

Every Sunday evening, a small group of us get together to indulge in glasses of wine, delicious cookies, and drawing beautiful naked women. This all takes place in the chapel of an old convent turned artist collective. The acoustics and lighting in this room are amazing and we take full advantage of it with well selected tunes, and occasionally a live musician to tantalize your ear drums. Bring your own materials. We do not provide easels, but we have cushions, backjacks, and chairs. $10! wine a …

Let's meet in one of San Francisco's parks, pair up, and draw each other. This is a casual, fun activity and all are welcome - not just "artists." We'll rotate through the parks, so it's also a way to get to know the city better.
